Polylepis

To travel is to change in order to be yourself
The project

Polylepis is a conscious adventure travel brand. It takes its name from an Andean tree that grows where almost nothing does. We built it on one governing idea — opposites that complete each other: adventure with pleasure, vertigo with calm. A lowercase logotype with an “o” that breathes, and the “IS” system that joins every destination to what it feels like there.

The challenge

Selling travel without selling smoke

The category lives on empty epic: the hidden paradise, the unique experience, the tour that promises everything. Polylepis speaks to travellers who smell that a mile off — people who pay for logistics done properly and hate the tourist trap. The brand had to sound authentic in a trade trained to exaggerate.

Our approach

Travel as a cycle, not as a destination

We were after an idea that could carry weight and we found one in the body: systole and diastole, the heart contracting and releasing to keep beating. Travel is that — leaving and returning, changing in order to stay yourself. The circle became the governing shape, and the “o” of the logotype its pulse.

Polylepis

All lowercase, an “o” with a pulse

Delight in lowercase lowers the voice: close, no shouting, moving horizontally. The organic “o” condenses the cycle — out and back. Dark Lavender sets the horizon at dusk; White Sand breathes; four accents — sky, mustard, green, wood — give rhythm without breaking the calm. The “IS” joins territory and feeling: “Patagonia is calm”.

The result

A system that travels to any destination

The “IS” turns any place into a campaign without redesigning a thing: the photograph changes, the structure stays. It goes down to outdoor, destination editorial, stationery, clothing and kit — caps, bucket hats, water bottles, carabiners. The brand signs off with a mark that is only an “o”: the footprint of the journey.

1
An “o” that condenses the whole cycle.
2
Opposites that complete each other: adventure and calm.
Destinations, one structure: “IS”.
